Aeration Aeration is a process that removes small soil plugs out of your lawn which will supply the spoil with air. Over seeding Over seeding your lawn will allow grass to grow in patchy and thin areas. With overseeding, we will sow seeds right over your existing grass in order to fill in the bare spots. Applying a top dressing over the seeds will enhance the grass growth. Applying top dressing to the bare patches will fill in all the minor low areas and to build up an ideal soil layer over the years. For a really first rate turf, we recommend to apply top dressing to your lawn, as needed, to increase the benefits of aeration.
The ideal season to overseed your lawn is the Fall. However, if you were unable to overseed your lawn in the fall, you may overseed once the winter frost is gone and before the spring flowers bloom. Hydro seeding Hydro seeding is another alternative to overseeding. It is another application process which allows grass to grow over your existing lawn in order to fill in the bare spots. This is a one step process. Hydro-seeding is becoming a popular means of planting grass. Hydro-seeding is a process by which seed, water, fertilizer, and fiber mulch are blended together in a tank and applied onto a prepared lawn area through a spraying hose. Once sprayed, the wet fiber mulch will help create a bond to the soil and provide the seeds with a water retaining blanketing-coat while protecting it from sunlight, wind, and erosion. As the grass seeds begin to germinate, the fiber mulch will slowly decompose adding nutrients to the soil. Contact us for more details on hydro seeding.
